The aim of this project was to create an artwork exploring the idea a personal chair. This concept consisted of taking an imprint of the user’s posterior and creating a seat which accepts only it’s owner in their favourite sitting position, in this case folding one leg or the other. First, an imprint was made by sitting on a slab of clay, onto which plaster was then poured, and finally, concrete was poured onto the plaster cast. In the end, the wooden mold used for these various steps was converted into a backrest to complete the seat.
