Projekt Kajüte is a project commissioned by a psychoanalyst looking to create a personal space in the family home. The name of the project denotes the maritime inspiration of the atmosphere which was pursued, enveloping the user in a sort of ship’s cabin.
A diverse set of functions, including a cupboard, a sitting nook, a piano, a bed, bookshelves and a collage-corner were integrated into a flowing design covering three of the four walls of the space. A combination of birch multiplex shelves and white lacquered steel columns keep the atmosphere light and elegant. A system of tambour sliding doors was realised to follow the curving lines, as well as a lighting system which was integrated to illuminate the whole room.
