The scope of this project was to conceive the reconstruction of the San Pio X church and associated complex located nearby the Polimi campus Leonardo in Milan. The proposed design associated a series of pierced walls and a variety of brick patterns to create thresholds and places connecting public space to the pyramid shaped church and rectangular parish building. The central orientation of the sacred space was chosen to promote community and discourage hierarchy in the parish, while the two level design affords greater flexibility. Finally, the uniform materiality of the complex incites unity while showing nuance.
